Antonio Romano

Antonio Romano is Full Professor at the Dept. of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Turin and scientific director of the Laboratory of Experimental Phonetics "Arturo Genre". He is also the coordinator of the Master in Translation for Cinema, TV and Multimedia.

After a graduation in 1994 at the Politecnico di Torino and a "Diplôme d'Études Approfondies" (D.E.A.) at the Université Stendhal in Grenoble (France), he attended a European PhD in Language Science in Grenoble. His doctoral dissertation (discussed in 1999) was judged "très honorable avec félicitations du Jury".

TEACHING APPOINTMENTS

His teaching activities in Italian Universities and abroad began in 1996. In the last years, he has been teaching in the following courses:

• "General Linguistics" (54 hours, for first degree students) at the Dept. of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Turin
• "General Linguistics" (54 hours, for second degree students) at the Dept. of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Turin
• "Glottology and Linguistics I" at the School of Medicine of the University of Turin (Speech Therapy, 24 hours, and Audiometric Techniques, 24 hours).
• "Glottology and Linguistics II" at the School of Medicine of the University of Turin (Speech Therapy, 36 hours, and Audiometric Techniques, 24 hours).
• "Glottology and Linguistics" at the Master in Traduzione per il Cinema, la TV e l'Editoria Multimediale (24h).

ONGOING RESEARCH ACTIVITY

Co-ordinator of AMPER Atlas Multimédia Prosodique de l'Espace Roman (with M. Contini) and director of the Italian committee (AMPER-ITA).

Research projects on specific issues.

Participation in the founding of AISV (Associazione Italiana di Scienze della Voce - Italian Association of Voice Sciences).

Member of the Direction Board (2004-2006 and 2011-2015).

Member of the Organising Committe of the X AISV (Turin, 2014).
