prosopraat_index

The Pro(so)Praat project's goal is to help the Praat users develop orthographic and prosodic annotation of spoken language. The first video focuses on orthographic transcription. It starts from some basics of the program, and then it provides some rules for a coherent and shared orthographic transcription.
The second video deals with a suprasegmental phenomenon of spoken Italian, called syntactic gemination. After a brief explanation of the phenomenon, it is shown how to signal the presence (or absence) of this gemination.
From the third video tutorial on, we work on a second level dedicated to the annotation of intonation. These videos are structured in two parts, one in which the topic is explained, offering definition and examples, and one in which we introduce exercises on the topics explained up to that moment.
Below you will find the list of video tutorials made so far, with related information on the topics covered, bibliography references, as well as answers to the exercises of the videos.

To date, only the first and the second videos have English and Spanish subtitles.
